Mono drum miking technique

Zverejnené: 19. 2. 2015 My experimental drum miking technique. This setup uses 3 different mikes – a LDC, a ribbon and a dynamic mike. 1.Step: Position the room mike (LDC), to capture the best balance of snare toms and cymbals 2.Step: Add the Kick mike (large ribbon) with an 8-pattern null facing to the floor and cymbals (apx. 2ft from the kick) 3.Step: If needed, add a Snare mike (dynamic) This setup brings out the natural sound of the drumset and room without stereo to mono phase issues. Mikes used in this vid: LDC – Rode NT1A, Ribbon – t.bone RB500, Dynamic – t.bone MB75
